Just needs like 50% more flour for it to work for me like all american recipes (what kind of flour do you use over there for godsakes).

I also split the dough into 6 for bigger smash burger buns. But otherwise seriously the best recipe.

I’ve been making breads and teaching for almost 50 years! This is one of the best! I followed your instructions exactly and have now improved my bread making skills.

I also used garlic salt instead of fine salt and I mixed all ingredients by hand because I don’t have a mixer. My buns turned out surprisingly good and this was my first time making bread!

Hi Debby! For best results, we recommend sticking with the combination of bread and all-purpose flour as written. For more information on why, check out the tip box just above the recipe here. However, feel free to experiment and let us know how it goes. Hope this helps, and we can’t wait to hear how your burger buns turn out! 🙂

Hi Diana! I’m thrilled to hear that you enjoyed this recipe! While we haven’t tested it with almond milk, we recommend using whole milk. It enriches the dough, resulting in soft and fluffy buns. However, feel free to experiment and let us know how it goes. Happy baking!

Hi Margaret! Yes, to make these hamburger buns further in advance, check out Tessa’s step-by-step instructions for this the tip box just above the recipe. You can also freeze the fully baked rolls – they freeze and thaw beautifully! Let us know what you think of these rolls once you have given them a try! Happy baking 🙂
